The name "Zephyr" means "gentle breeze," inspired by the prevailing wind that moderates Marlborough's climate—what we describe as the region's "best kept secret."

In 1988, Owen and Wendy Glover pioneered grape cultivation in Marlborough's Dillons Point sub-region, planting vines on their dairy farm. Their eldest son Ben launched the Zephyr wine label in 2007, building it around family values and focusing on expressing the unique terroir of Dillons Point through single vineyard wines.

10 years after launching the brand, Ben and his wife Susie transitioned 20 hectares of the family vineyard in 2017, to organic farming practices. Since 2020, their wines have carried the Bio-gro certified organic logo, reflecting their commitment to expressing the true flavors of their land through sustainable practices like soil health management, biodiversity, regenerative farming, and mindful consumption.

This is a wonderful example of how a family winery can evolve while maintaining its core values and connection to the land.
