Wakefield Wines is a third generation family owned winery founded in 1969 by the Taylor family in South Australia’s Clare Valley near the Wakefield River.  

Wakefield’s unique blend of ‘old world’ estate philosophy, ‘new world’ winemaking innovation with zealous attention to detail has won acclaim by consumers and prestigious wine competitions worldwide and has elevated the brand to No3 Brand in Australia.  As a business we are big enough to supply but, more importanly, small enough to care.

Wakefield Wine’s home is in the picturesque Clare Valley – a beautiful region with a big reputation. As a family-owned wine company operating in both rural and urban settings since 1969 they launched the first Carbon Neutral wine range and in 2021 they were the first independent Australian winery to commit to Science Base Targets to reduce its carbon emission by 50% by 2050For over 50 years. 

Wakefield Wines have earned an enviable reputation for producing many of Australia’s favourite wines.   Truly great wines are made in the vineyard and that the art of fine winemaking is to respect and capture the essence of the vineyard site and to highlight the unique varietal expression of each grape variety.
