Citation, Centerstone and WillaJory wines are owned by New York native and 50-year Northwest wine industry veteran, Howard Rossbach. Over more than four decades, Howard has been active in retail, wholesale, national sales along with vineyard and winery ownership. He has been instrumental in the sales, marketing and success of many of Oregon’s and Washington’s leading wines. Until June 2017, Howard was founder and owner of Firesteed, one of Oregon’s largest wineries. He sold Firesteed so that he could focus on the quality of wine that enticed him into the wine business four decades ago.

Citation, Centerstone and WillaJory wines are focused on the grapes produced by Erratic Oaks Vineyard in the heart of the Willamette Valley. Erratic Oaks Vineyard is situated on south and southwest facing slopes in the newly approved Mt. Pisgah sub-AVA, and benefits from having all three of the Willamette Valley’s major soil types: Marine Sedimentary, Volcanic and Missoula Flood Sedimentary.

Erratic Oaks Vineyard’s 202 acres (145 acres planted to wine grapes) are farmed sustainably under the L.I.V.E. program. As of 2019 Erratic Oaks no longer uses herbicides. Therefore, all Citation, Centerstone and WillaJory wines are “Salmon Safe”. Additionally, all our wines are vegan with no animal fining agents used.

Erratic Oaks Vineyard is a special site across a dirt road from Freedom Hill Vineyard. Our site is measurably warmer due to our more westerly aspect, thus ensuring outstanding fruit even in the most challenging growing seasons.
