Born in the heart of Saint Ciers sur Gironde in 1920, Château Haut Grelot is a family affair. The vineyard has been passed down from father to son for 3 generations, and it is now Julien Bonneau who listens to the vine. A true enthusiast and native winemaker, he is particularly proud and respectful of the heritage of his elders, hence his desire to perpetuate the tradition, while bringing a hint of novelty and originality to the creation of his cuvées. Today, the estate totals 67 hectares (in AOP Bordeaux, and Blaye Côtes de Bordeaux), where red and white grape varieties are grown. With time and experience, we know better the identity and potential of each of our plots, offering a remarkable choice of grape quality, and many opportunities to expand our cellar, which today has nearly 13 references. . To express the authenticity of our wines, we take care to preserve the artisanal and natural side of the vinification, thus giving rise to structured and balanced wines, reflecting the expression of our different terroirs. On the strength of this family experience, Julien was keen to create his own range of wines, Domaine Grains d'Estuaire. It is above all the story of two taste enthusiasts and longtime friends, Julien Bonneau and Alexandre Lavigne. One is a winegrower, the other is the chef and owner of the gastronomic restaurant l'Arrosoir. Located in Charente Maritime, this estate of nearly 15 Hectares certified IGP is fully in line with a sustainable farming approach, where the balance of the plant and the maturity of the grapes are essential. It is thanks to their common passion for aromas, and their love of good wine that several cuvées have been created, each with their own particularity. Each of our cuvées voluntarily breaks traditional codes, and has its own graphic identity, perfectly reflecting the character of its wine.
