The Waldschütz winery is located in Sachsendorf, Lower Austria, in the Wagram region, and is run by Ralph Waldschütz, the sixth generation of the Waldschütz family.

Anton, Elfriede and Ralph Waldschütz vinify grapes from the best sites in the Wagram and Kamptal wine regions. With the knowledge gained from over 150 years of winemaking, the family is able to give each of their vineyards the attention and care it deserves. The result is powerful wines with distinctive flavours typical of the variety and region.

 

The three of them are a well-rehearsed team. When the winemaking family looks after their vineyards in Fels am Wagram and Strass im Strassertal in Lower Austria, every step is perfect: the careful care of each individual vine, foliage work, grape thinning and hand-picking are natural prerequisites for the quality of their wines. When it comes to their vines, the family relies on generations of experience and a sure instinct. With over 150 years of winemaking under his belt, Ralph Waldschütz knows the characteristics of his soils and the climatic influences that make the Wagram and Kamptal so unique.

 

An earthy wine tradition built on loess and primary rock. At the family estate in Sachsendorf, the typical terroir characteristics of the two wine-growing regions are harmoniously combined: The mineral flavour of the Kamptal primary rock with the fine fruit and fragrant nuances of the Wagram loess soil.
